Custom Precision Plastic Parts Made to Your Specifications
Ethylene Atlantic manufactures custom plastic components using machining processes that include CNC milling and turning.
A plastic component may need to fit within a compact assembly, match a specific hole pattern, or meet closely controlled dimensions. Those requirements are individual to the design. Custom machining allows the part’s shape, material, and features to be defined around the application.
At Ethylene Atlantic, we manufacture precision plastic parts from customer drawings and blueprints. Our capabilities include work on challenging parts with demanding dimensional requirements. From an initial component to repeat production, the drawing provides the reference for what needs to be made.
What Is Custom Plastic Machining?
Plastic machining removes material from solid stock to create a component with specified dimensions and features. The material is shaped through machining operations according to the customer’s design. The finished part may have a custom profile, round geometry, openings, or other features needed for its intended use.
Our plastic machining capabilities include milling and turning, along with drilling, boring, and tapping. Milling and turning address different component shapes. The appropriate approach depends on the drawing, material, and requirements of the individual part.

Custom plastic machining can be useful when standard components do not provide the dimensions or geometry a design requires. An equipment manufacturer may need a part sized for a particular assembly, while a maintenance team may have a drawing for a replacement component. In both cases, clear specifications establish what the finished part must be.
Our industry experience includes electronics, instrumentation, laboratory equipment, healthcare technology, chemical processing, and industrial manufacturing. Plastic machining projects can address requirements such as:
-
Custom fit: Components sized to match adjoining parts or available space.
-
Defined features: Parts with specified profiles, hole locations, openings, or threaded features.
-
Prototype evaluation: Initial components for customers to assess fit and assembly.
-
Drawing-based replacements: Parts manufactured to supplied dimensions and material specifications.
-
Repeat production: Additional components produced to the same approved requirements.
-
We also work on challenging, high-precision plastic parts. For these projects, identify the features that make the component difficult, whether that involves closely controlled dimensions or the relationship between mating features. Those details help communicate the requirements without relying on a general description such as “high precision.”
The project starts with your blueprint and material specification. Dimensions, tolerances, surface finish requirements, and quantity all help define the work. If certain features are critical to the part’s function or fit, identify them clearly in the drawing.
Our milling and turning capabilities allow us to work with different stock forms and component geometries. The machining operations needed for a particular part are determined by its design.

CNC Milling From Sheet Stock
Our CNC milling work manufactures parts from sheet stock to customer specifications. Rotating cutting tools remove material to produce the shape and features shown on the blueprint.
This approach can address designs with custom outlines, flat surfaces, and hole patterns. The drawing should show the finished dimensions and any relationships between features that matter when the part is installed.
Turning From Rod Stock
Turning produces round components from rod stock using lathes. The workpiece rotates while a cutting tool removes material to create the specified dimensions.
For a turned part, the drawing should define diameters, overall length, and any internal openings or additional features. Where a component fits around or inside another part, include the tolerances needed for that fit.

Plastic Materials We Machine
Our published machining materials include:
-
PTFE, PFA, and PVDF.
-
Nylon and acetal.
-
Acrylic.
-
Polyethylene and polypropylene.
-
PVC and CPVC.
-
PEEK and polyimide.
-
Kel-F.
The required material and grade should be identified with the part drawing. If your specification calls for a material not listed here, include it in your inquiry for review.
Material selection should reflect the application’s operating conditions and performance requirements. Share relevant details about temperature, chemical exposure, loading, or visibility needs when they affect the specification. The material name and part dimensions together provide a more complete starting point than either one alone.
Quality and Repeat Production
Our quality practices include documented processes and reports available upon request. Components are cleaned, deburred, and inspected. Identify any additional inspection or documentation requirements when submitting the project.
For recurring needs, we offer blanket orders, JIT delivery options, and custom packaging. Share your expected quantities and ordering schedule so those requirements can be discussed alongside the machining work.

Request a Quote for Custom Plastic Machining
Send Ethylene Atlantic your drawing, specified plastic and grade, quantity, and requested delivery date. Include critical tolerances, finish requirements, and any inspection or documentation needs. For a particularly challenging component, explain which features require special attention so our team can review the project and provide a quote.
