Custom Precision Parts Made to Your Blueprint

Ethylene Atlantic machines custom components to customer specifications, including CNC-milled plastic parts produced from sheet stock.

When a component needs a particular shape, hole pattern, or fit, the drawing provides the starting point. It tells the machining team what the finished part needs to look like and which dimensions matter to the assembly. Custom CNC machining turns those requirements into a physical component.

At Ethylene Atlantic, our work begins with your blueprint. We machine parts for equipment builders and manufacturers who need components made for their own designs. Whether you are evaluating an initial part or planning a repeat order, the focus stays on your specified geometry, material, and quality requirements.

What Is CNC Machining?

CNC stands for computer numerical control. In CNC machining, programmed machine movements guide cutting tools as they remove material from stock to create a part. The process can produce defined profiles, holes, recesses, and other features based on the component design.

Our CNC milling work includes manufacturing parts from sheet stock. We receive the customer’s drawing and machine the material to those specifications. Milling uses rotating cutting tools to shape the workpiece, making it useful for components with flat surfaces, custom outlines, and precisely located features.

Applications for Custom CNC Machining

Custom machining is useful when a part must fit a particular piece of equipment or perform a defined role within an assembly. A mounting pattern may need to match existing hardware, or a component may need an outline that fits within limited space. The drawing allows those requirements to be built into the part.

Our industry experience includes laboratory and testing equipment, electronics, healthcare technology, chemical processing, and industrial manufacturing.

Examples of our broader machining work include:

  • Laboratory and testing applications: Mounting hardware, custom enclosures, and fixtures.

  • Electronics and instrumentation: Components used in control systems, testing jigs, and panel assemblies.

  • Industrial equipment: Custom machine parts and components for assembly lines and automation.

  • Chemical processing: Components for process equipment and flow-control assemblies.

The machining approach depends on the individual drawing. For a new design, prototype quantities can support customer evaluation. For existing equipment, a replacement component can be manufactured to a customer-provided drawing that defines the required material and dimensions.

Our CNC Machining Process and Materials

The blueprint connects the design requirements to the machining work. It should identify the part’s dimensions, tolerances, material, and any required finish. Clearly marking critical features helps communicate where fit and alignment are especially important.

For sheet-stock milling, material is removed to create the specified profile and features. Our machining capabilities also include turning, drilling, boring, and tapping, allowing different part geometries and requirements to be addressed.

Customer Drawings and Part Requirements

Send the current drawing revision with your request, along with the quantity and requested delivery date. Include any requirements that may not be apparent from the dimensions alone, such as a particular material grade, inspection report, or packaging arrangement.

A complete specification also helps distinguish requirements from preferences. For example, a dimension that controls the fit between two components should be clearly identified. If a feature changes between orders, provide the revised drawing so the new request reflects the intended design.

Plastic and Metal Materials

We machine a range of plastics, including:

  • PTFE, PFA, PVDF, and Kel-F.

  • Nylon, acetal, and acrylic.

  • Polyethylene and polypropylene.

  • PVC and CPVC.

  • PEEK and polyimide.

Our broader material capabilities also include aluminum, brass, and stainless steel. Confirm the material and stock form for a particular job during project review.

Material selection affects both machining and the finished component. Plastics differ in stiffness and response to temperature, which can influence dimensional behavior. These material-specific machining considerations should be considered alongside the part’s operating conditions and tolerance requirements.

Inspection and Repeat Orders

Our quality processes include cleaning, deburring, and inspection, with documented processes and reports available upon request. Specify any additional inspection or documentation requirements when submitting the project for review.

For recurring work, we offer blanket orders, JIT delivery options, and custom packaging. These services help customers plan how components are ordered, delivered, and protected as part of their production schedule.
